Message It could also be bad connections to the gauge cluster (try unplugging and replugging the upper left cluster connector), a bad cluster itself or the path of the signal from the speed sensor to the cluster. Signals from the speed sensor are routed through the cluster to the ECU where they are calculated for the ECU to provides the proper signal to the rack solenoid for the rack to function properly.

The path of the signal from the speed sensor is from the speed sensor on the transmission to the right connector of three connectors mounted in engine bay front of the PS wheel behind the PS headlight as looking at it from the PS seat, then to the brown connector behind the PS plastic panel by the PS right foot, then to the gauge cluster upper left connector, then to the ECU and then the signal from the ECU to the rack solenoid.
